A confidential first conversation

You can explain only what is necessary. Ed will ask practical questions about the incident, access, the affected area and whether the scene has been released. We then explain what assessment is required and what is likely to happen next.

Assessment and controlled working area

Visible contamination does not always show the full extent of an affected area. We assess surfaces, porous materials, likely transfer points, access and waste requirements before agreeing the scope and controls for the work.

Cleaning and decontamination

The agreed service may include removal of contaminated porous materials, thorough cleaning and disinfection of retained surfaces, treatment of edges and difficult-to-reach areas, and odour control. Methods are selected according to the biological contamination and materials present.

Care, discretion and confidentiality

Trauma and crime-scene cleaning can involve distressing and deeply private circumstances. We attend discreetly, communicate only with authorised people and treat the property, belongings and everyone involved with dignity.

Lawful biohazard-waste disposal

Affected materials and other agreed biohazard waste are packaged, transported and directed through an authorised specialist disposal route. Professional clients can receive documentation describing the agreed work and waste removed.

Direct regional response

Insight is based in Bath and serves Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and nearby areas. There is no national call centre: clients speak directly with Ed Barnes, who establishes the situation and remains responsible for the service provided.

Who we support

We work with families and property owners, as well as landlords, letting agents, housing providers, block managers, facilities teams, insurers, funeral directors, probate professionals and other responsible organisations.

Local service information

Trauma and crime-scene cleaning: common questions

When can crime-scene or trauma cleaning begin?

Specialist cleaning can begin only after the police, emergency services or other relevant authority has released the scene and confirmed that access is permitted. We can discuss the situation beforehand and explain what information will be needed.

Who arranges the cleaning after a traumatic incident?

The property owner, occupier, landlord, insurer or responsible organisation will normally need to arrange specialist cleaning after the authorities have finished at the scene. We can provide a clear quotation and agreed scope for the responsible person or organisation.

Why is ordinary cleaning unsuitable?

Blood, bodily fluids and other biological material may carry infection risks and can spread beyond the immediately visible area. Specialist controls, protective equipment, suitable products, containment and lawful waste arrangements may be required.

What happens during trauma or crime-scene cleaning?

The work begins with an assessment of the affected area and materials. The agreed service may include controlled removal of contaminated porous items, cleaning and disinfection of retained surfaces, treatment of difficult-to-reach areas, odour control and lawful disposal of biohazard waste.

How is contaminated waste handled?

Biohazard waste is appropriately packaged, transported and directed through an authorised specialist disposal route. Insight is registered with the Environment Agency as an upper-tier waste carrier and maintains contracted biological-waste disposal arrangements.

How quickly can Insight respond in Bath or Bristol?

Insight is based in Bath and serves Bristol and the surrounding region without a national call centre. Availability depends on the circumstances, access and existing work; call Ed directly on 07891 256617 to discuss urgency and the next practical step.
